OCT. 20: The Library's Board of Trustees voted to purchase the property at 6200 Lincoln Ave., across Georgiana St. to the west of the library.  The opportunity to purchase the property, at a greatly reduced price, first became available barely two weeks prior to the purchase decision, meaning that it came too late in the planning process of the library's remodeling project to be completely integrated into those plans.  Nonetheless, library staff are developing strategies to take advantage of the additional space the new building provides, both in the short term immediately following completion of the existing facility's remodeling, and in the longer term.

OCT. 1:  Main floor and mezzanine are closed west of the Check-Out Desk; roof repairs and asbestos abatement begin.

SEPT. 22 - SEPT. 30: All books, audio-visual materials, shelving and furnishings are removed from the main floor and mezzanine levels.  New books, a selection of feature film DVDs, and public computers are relocated to the Cooperman Board Room and adjacent area.

Main floor remodeling added to roof repair / asbestos abatement project. The library will remain open normal hours throughout the entire construction period. The Youth Services Department is not directly impacted by construction.
