Library Visits

Famished for Fiction

Famished for Fiction is an informal book group that meets at schools during the students' lunch hour.  The Young Adult Services Librarian booktalks new teen books and students may share what they are reading.  We may also select one book for everyone to read and discuss.  If Famished for Fiction is not currently being held at your school and you would like to host, please contact the Young Adult Services Librarian.

Teen Programs

The Morton Grove Public Library offers many teen programs each month, including book discussions, Teen Library Council meetings, and Improv Club.  Encourage your students to participate in these programs.  If you would like more information on the programs or to discuss collaboration, such as offering extra credit to students for attending, contact the Young Adult Services Librarian.

Assignments Alerts

Contact us prior to giving your students an assignment, and we'll be better prepared to help your students.  The Young Adult Services Librarian is also available to speak to your class about researching at the Library.

Teacher Loans

We are happy to offer extended loans to school staff with preapproval from school administration. Ask your principal or administrator if you are not sure that you have been approved for a teacher loan from the Morton Grove Public Library.

Library Space and Resource Use

Use the Library as additional classroom space!  Our large auditorium with stage provides the perfect place for poetry slams or musical performances.  Or, partner with another teacher and hold a book discussion at the Library with students from another class or school.  Contact the Young Adult Services Librarian to plan an event at the Library.
