You may have noticed things look a bit different around here. We are very excited to launch our first website upgrade in 7 years, which is quite a long time in technology-years. Here are some things we love about the new MGPL.org:

Fully mobile responsive

The site is built to look good and adapt to any screen size, whether a laptop, smartphone, or tablet.

New event calendar

We also have a new event calendar, made by the same company that developed the website. The site and calendar connect seamlessly, making it easier to integrate the calendar throughout the website. Access the new calendar directly at mgpl.org/events or in the Events menu to browse and register for upcoming events, which you can search by age group, event type, or keyword.

Note that all registrations in the previous calendar were moved to the new calendar, so you do not need to re-register for events. Feel free to contact us to confirm any of your previous registrations.

Online room reservations

Want to host an event in one of our meeting spaces? Our new reservation system makes it easy to see room info and make a request.

Staff recommendations

In the feedback we got from people who use our website, one common theme was wanting more staff recommendations. In addition to the Staff Picks on the front page, we now have new Recommendations pages dedicated to Adults, Teens, and Kids, with reading lists curated by librarians. You can browse the full archive as well.

Library blog

Right now at our new Library blog, you can read about the Library's previous websitesthe hot new genre of "climate fiction", and our new Healthy Living initiative. Expect more posts from Library staff that feature recommendations, valuable tips and resources, Library news, and other content that will add value to your life.

Support the Library

We make it easy to donate to the Library online via credit card. Your gifts help support the Library’s mission to offer enriching events and resources for all ages. We thank you for your generosity!

We’re happy to answer any questions you have about the changes. As always you can:

  • Chat online using the Chat feature at the bottom of any page
