The Library is now offering no-contact curbside pickup services. Read on for details and instructions.
Here's what you need to know about curbside pickup:
- By appointment only
- Holds must be ready for pickup before requesting a time slot
- Confirmed time slot required to be able to pick up items
- Returns and donations not accepted during pickup times
1. Place a hold
Log in to your account to place holds on items you’d like to borrow. Or call us at (847) 965-4220 and our staff can help you find what you're looking for and place holds for you.
2. Wait to hear from us
As soon as your items are available, we’ll send you an email. (If you don’t have email, we’ll give you a call.) Please do not come to the Library until you receive this notification.
3. Request pickup
Use the online form to make a pickup request. Or call us at 847-965-4220 and we can do it for you. (If any of your other holds become available before your appointment, those holds will be included in your order.)
4. Come to the Library
Come to the reserved parking spots at the back of the building, then call us at 847-929-5103 or ring the provided doorbell. We will bring your items out to you.

You can return your library items anytime in the outside bookdrop, which is now open 24/7.
Returned materials will be quarantined for 4 days (as recommended by RAILS and recent scientific studies) before being handled by Library staff, who will be wearing masks. To avoid potentially damaging materials, please do not disinfect or clean library materials yourself.
