Grades 4-6

Unsurprisingly, the American frontier consisted of more than white people. As a child, Linda Parks imagined herself as the best friend of Laura from the Little House books. Just as there were black cowboys, there were girls like her. Prairie Lotus takes us back to the 1800s and tells the story of a girl who is part Asian helping in her father's shop. Her simple hopes and dreams are a challenge made even more complicated by racism. How will she survive and thrive?

For everyone's safety, we will not be serving refreshments.
